Welcome to Reagles On The Rhine. We’re so glad you’ve joined us on this exciting journey abroad! For those of you who are new here (aren’t we all?!), we’re a newly married couple from Michigan that just moved to Wiesbaden, Germany.
Let me back up for a minute and introduce ourselves. I’m Erica – the Type A planner who keeps this family on schedule, isn’t afraid to speak up, is a comedian without even trying and is prone to freak outs for no reason at all.
Ryan is my husband and better half. He can make everyone smile at the drop of a hat and his laugh is truly contagious. Ryan is the definition of easy going and always reminds me that yes, everything will work out – even if it’s not exactly to plan.
Ryan and I got married on June 1 in a castle in northern Michigan surrounded by our family and friends. It truly was a fairytale wedding – and the start of a lifelong adventure together.

A few months into marriage we decided to start another new adventure…outside of the U.S.
So, what brought us to Germany? Ryan’s career in automotive sales. His company gave him the opportunity to relocate for six months so here. we. are.
I’m just not that into venturing outside of my comfort zone, but it didn’t take much to get me on board with moving to Germany for half a year…
- Are there cute cafés and boutiques in Wiesbaden? Yes.
- Do I have to drive a car? No.
- Can I work from coffee shops? Yes.
- Does the flat have an elevator? No.
- Can we travel every weekend? Yes.
- SOLD!
We moved out of our rental house in Troy, MI and brought everything (wedding registry gifts included) to my childhood bedroom – thanks mom and dad for the free storage!
We packed our lives (okay mostly just clothes and shoes) into 4 checked bags and 2 carry-ons – quite a challenge for a 6-month stay but that’s a story for another day.
We’ve been here for almost a whole week now and are adjusting quite well. Follow along as we eat, drink, and laugh our way through Europe and discover what it’s like to be newlyweds in a foreign country.
Stay tuned to hear all about the craziness of getting here and see our new home.
Writing has always been a passion of mine and now is the time to share my stories with the world.
xoxo,
The Reagles
Can’t wait to see you guys again and be part of your European journey! Can’t wait to see your new home! I can’t wait to see the place you visit and will enjoy the whole experience with you xxx
